Small Space

Space is the greatest luxury of the 21 century. Two important element are unity and proportions. Using similar colours and texture in the area or connected areas. Also using the same basic materials for surfaces and finishes. Another vital element is proportion and one solution is to scale up furniture and fittings to achieve definition and visual weight. Small space with little in it, will always remind you of its limited size, but one that is fitted out and thoughtfully furnished to an appropriate scale will have its own atmosphere and character all begins with an idea.

How to maximise small spaces:

  • Build up, not out

  • Work around architecture

  • Build Storage into furniture

  • Keep your windows - to -wall ratio high

  • Utilise the space you see

  • Keep the flooring Light

  • Add skylights, glaze floors and ceilings

  • Focus on natural elements, neutral colours
